Reproduction Lecture

Reproduction
Reproduction is a way for our genes to achieve immortality, I mean it is basically all our genes want to do. The average person feels compelled to reproduce and it is treated as an important milestone in our society. Each species has a different approach to it. The reproduction slides discuss choosing a good mate, the good genes theory as well as the disparities in male and female choosing of mates. I thought the most interesting part of the slideshow was the statistics regarding mate poaching, which is essentially trying to attract an individual already in a relationship. The slide stated that around 60% of men and 40% of women had reported to trying to mate poach. Looking at stats like that it is hard to look past the prominence of wanting to reproduce. The body is but a vessel for our genetic code to perpetuate.
