During this section of Endurance we find the men losing even more motivation. By now they have been through many false senses of hope. It amazes me how strong minded they have been, but I am not surprised they are starting to fall apart. If I was on their journey I would have absolutely cracked by now. Even Shackelton himself seems less of a leader and a motivator at this point. His decisions seem to be foggy right now and not as precise as they once were. His decision about food rations is not one I would have made. I understand he has been through a lot, but I was not expecting him to breakdown during this section, not yet atleast. The men all deserve credit for making it this far, however if I saw my commander losing his mind little by little I would be extremely worried. I am eager to see what comes next and how Shackelton deals with his own demons in his head.
