The Luck Factor

I found this article to be extremely insightful, however I couldn't help but question if the phenomenon being discussed was truly luck. To me, the effects on the negative minded people vs. positive minded people sounded more like the Law of Attraction, of like thoughts attracting other ones. By this logic, anyone who thinks negatively (and consequently attracts negative thoughts to themselves) is therefore unlucky, whereas those that are positive are lucky. I think this negative vs. positive attitude also affects people's mindsets when they discussed finding hidden messages/rewards in the newspaper they were assigned to read. Someone with a more open, positive mind is more likely to be receptive to outside influences which, in turn, often wind up to be positive. Therefore it makes sense that if someone is negative (aka unlucky) they are more closed off to outside stimuli and opportunities. I would also like to know more about Luck School - I bet there's a very good chance that the exercises the author assigned to people had much more to do with opening themselves up to the world around them and looking at things in a positive light than it did with actually exerting "luck" into their daily lives and embracing superstition.
