Final Post

Before taking this class I was not sure what to expect, and I was curious to learn about the concept of motivation. I did not expect that there would be so much behind this idea and that there was even an in depth history behind it. People deal with motivation everyday and do not even realize it. There are so many things that I learned that are extremely relevant to today's lifestyles. For instance, choice overload. I experience choice overload basically everytime I try to buy something. There are countless times that I have gone online to purchase something and it takes me days to finally find the right product for the right price. Some of the times I just give up all together because all the choices are too overwhelming. I enjoyed learning about the economics of motivation because it is so relevant in everyday life. I never thought about the fact that in order to satisfy any needs, there is a cost that is measured in different ways. I also enjoyed learning about personality and self as well as goal motivation. I find myself setting a lot of goals and after this lesson I learned to start setting more specific goals. By setting more specific goals it is easier to narrow in what I really want to accomplish. It is knowledge like this that can help me for the rest of my life. Taking this class gave me a new outlook on what motivation really means.
