Rewards
After learning about rewards, I can relate to practicing this. I work in a pediatric office and we are always trying to tell the kids that after they do what they need to do they will get rewarded with a lollypop. I agree with positive reinforcements most of the time, but if your constantly doing it, they will start to catch on and use it against you to get what they want. We only use it when completely necessary.

I used to work in pediatrics and when our department changed managers, they decided to use stickers instead of lollipops for rewards after vaccines. Some kids responded ok to it and some did not. It made it harder on those of us having to administer the vaccine and deliver the reward.
