Facial expressions and body language.

In chapter thirteen the book discusses about emotions and moods. One part that I came across that I have always been interested in is people's body language and different facial expressions. I think it is really interesting how even if someone does not say anything you can tell what kind of mood their in by their facial expressions or body language. Someones facial expression can even change the mood you're in. They can make you feel happy, sad, or angry, or even nervous or uncomfortable.

When someone is really mad or tense it reads in their face. They may be very distant and have mean look on their face. They also may be very tense with their body. You can also tell when someone is nervous, they might be fidgeting or pacing around or may not make eye contact. You might be able to tell if someone is uncomfortable too. They may fidget or sweat, they may have almost a sad look on their face, and not make eye contact often. Also a person that is happy may have a smile on their face and be bouncy or excited. Sometimes you can even tell if a person is lying just by their body language. They may not look you in the eye, or move their body around or be fidgeting almost as if they are nervous, but the biggest thing I think that people do when their lying is avoiding any eye contact. Body language I think is important because sometimes it can really tell you how someone is feeling.

This video is long, but it is really interesting how people study body language and facial expressions.
